Hours: Minimum 1 day per week, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (schedule is flexible)
Start Date: August 1, 2016 – ongoing according to volunteer availability
Description:
KWIS is a non-commercial community educational radio station that is dedicated to preserving the Culture, Language and History of Coeur d’Alene Tribe. KWIS serves to bridge the gaps between Native and non-Native communities and strives to educate and enhance Cultural awareness through programming and affiliated content
We are seeking a Volunteer Promotions Assistant to support the development of promotional resources for the Station, with a special focus on promotions relating to Underwriting and Membership.
The Volunteer Promotions Assistant’s tasks will include:
– Assist in the production and distribution of promotional materials relating to Underwriting and Membership
– Assist in identifying new contacts and opportunities for new partnerships and community engagement
– Assist in updating the monthly newsletter
– Maintenance of social media accounts
Location: The volunteer will work on site at the Radio Station located at 111 N. 8th Street and within the local community when needed.
Supervision: The volunteer will be supervised by the Station Manager, and will meet with the Station Manager for regular status updates and planning sessions.
Qualifications:
• Interest/experience working in public outreach and engagement
• Experience with desktop publishing software and graphic design preferred
• Interest/experience working in a not-for-profit environment
• Proficient using social media and online communication tools
• Interest in the Coeur d’Alene Tribe’s Culture and History
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Sound judgment and flexibility
